After completing an online form, your application will be assessed. If you’ve been successful, you’ll receive an email giving you access to online tests. Although this is a self-selection process, we advise you to tell your Chief Executive you are putting yourself forward for the programme. This is in order for you to receive the mentoring and support you will need throughout the process.
There will be two elements to the online test:
- Numerical reasoning
- Verbal reasoning
The closing date for all applications is 12 noon, 30th October 2009. The deadline for completion of all online tests is 12 noon, 4th November 2009.
Successful applicants will be invited to attend a competency-based interview on 23rd November 2009.
If you are successful at the interview stage you will be invited to the Development Centre held week commencing 7th December 2009. Here, candidates will go through a series of activities based on competencies in the Leadership Qualities Framework (LQF). The process will last approximately one and half days and incorporate the following:
- A one-to-one activity
- A pairs activity
- A group activity
- A written exercise
Successful participants will be offered a place on the new Top Talent Programme week commencing 14th December 2009. You will then be helped to find an NHS placement in a senior role, part funded by the NHS Institute. In addition to the placement, the successful participant will take part in an educational training programme provided by the Kings Fund, Cumberledge Connections and People Opportunities, they will receive coaching and be supported to find an appropriate mentor.
All participants will be given the opportunity to have feedback on their performance at the development centre along with their own personalised report.
We strongly encourage you to practice the online tests to prepare and familiarise yourself with what's involved and ultimately, to give yourself the greatest chance of success when it comes to the real online tests. You can visit any of the major test provider's website to practice. However, we have included a link to make it as easy as possible for you.
