Help change a fast-changing nation

Created 61 years ago, the National Health Service has evolved to meet the needs of an ever changing population, we’ve overcome many challenges, redesigned and refreshed how to improve in order to give the best possible service to patients.

1.3 million people work in the NHS, they are dedicated to looking after the population in England. Our health service is one of the most innovative, complex and effective systems in the world. The National Breaking Through Programme is just one initiative that has been designed to help us continue leading the way in healthcare.

The aim of the programme is to identify, select and develop talented managers and clinicians from BME backgrounds and support them to achieve director level positions. The programme is designed to encourage transformational leadership styles enabling participants to harness the talents of staff thus enabling them to deliver an appropriate and effective service to our population.

This site will help you find out how we can help you realise your career aspirations.

All employees, whether part-time, full-time or temporary, will be treated fairly and equally. Selection for employment, promotion, training or another effect will be on the basis of aptitude and ability. We strongly urge all candidates to visit a test provider's website to practice the online test numeracy and verbal reasoning tests. We strongly encourage you to practice the online tests to prepare and familiarise yourself with what's involved and ultimately, to give yourself the greatest chance of success when it comes to the real online tests. You can visit any of the major test provider's website to practice. However, we have included a link to make it as easy as possible for you.
